Alyssa leaving and our first blizzard

We had a quiet night at home Friday night as this was Alyssa's last night with us, her flight departed at 6:05am on Saturday morning so only Steve, Taylor and Alyssa went to the airport.  Taylor was especially sad to see her big sister leave.  Yet again the weather decided to play up when Alyssa was scheduled to fly however her flight took off as planned and we spent the day inside, upstairs looking out our front window at the windy weather tossing the snow around.

The cross country ski lodge called us to cancel our ski lesson as a blizzard warning was in effect and the temperature would be about -40C with the wind chill!!  We were wondering if this was a blizzard so I guess it was.  Snow was blowing everywhere, our window sills were full with snow and visibility was very limited, Cooper went outside to check it out and he came back covered in snow.  I checked out the weather report for the day:
  • Minimum temp: -34.6 degC
  • Maximum temp: -20.3 degC

"we only left the vehicle to go shopping......"

On Sunday night we went to Fermont for pizza with Matt, Kim, Randy, Karen and their kids.  After the poutine for an entree we could only manage one slice of the delicious pizza.
